Storm Chaser ID Cards

Skywarn_Black.png    We are working on the new Storm Chaser ID cards.  While we have 4 different types of Storm Spotter ID cards, at this time, it looks like we will have only 2 types of storm chaser cards.  This may change in the future as we update and modify the card's design.  These cards will be similar to the storm spotter id cards in that they will come in white and black.

Currently, we are holding a contest for a severe weather related photo to be used as the background of the card.  This has to be an original photo that you have copyright ownership to.  We will not use photos obtained from Google or any other source unless we have the copyright holders permission on file.  All photo's that are submitted will receive a release form to allow for our use of the photo.  If you have a digital photo, please not photoshop additions, that you would like to send, email them to the admin.  When we talk about Photoshopped, we do not want picture that have been doctored or changed, other than resizing and cropping.  We want only true original photos.

We will hold this photo contest through September 15th, with the option to extend it, at which time all the photos will have been uploaded to the website with voting option to allow all the members assist in choosing the background image for the cards.   If we have some very close votes we may use more than one photo and create a couple of different cards.  All photo submission become the property of Storm Spotters Unitedâ„¢ and Kaufman County ARES, Inc., but only for use on the ID cards and the websites.  The original owner will retain copyright ownership to the photo, unless they wish to grant complete copyright ownership to us.

This contest is open to anyone, not just Storm Spotter Unitedâ„¢ members.  As stated in the forum on this site, the winner (this is the top voted winner only, if more than one photo is used) will be listed as a sponsor on the website, including a link to their site if they have one and will receive their Storm Chasers ID Card for free, limit to the first card only.  As we move to create these cards and finish a few details on the contect, we will update and modify this page.

At this time, the current pricing for the Storm Chaser ID cards will be set at $17 or $18.  It depends on how complex the card ends up.
